|…| this idea of looking at all that is “man-made” as an extension of nature and natural systems - and I think about it constantly. It said: “Look around you and try to find the most natural object in the room you are in now. It is you.” I love it because I think it’s so easy to pretend that being a person somehow means you’re not an animal, that you and your actions are somehow divorced from nature. Once I decided to blur that binary between nature and human, to basically stop othering nature and get into it, my work became totally alive.
