Juliette Sallin is a multidisciplinary artist based in Geneva, Switzerland. She creates paintings and installations that explore the presence of things: a landscape, a plant, a rock, the atmosphere or her own body. Her work considers how these presences become perceptible, meet one another and unsettle the boundaries between the human, vegetal and mineral.

Working primarily with silk organza, she prepares inks from natural materials and presses plants directly onto the fabric. She also uses plant-based resin to create imprints in relief. Each form arises through contact between her gesture, the plant’s surface and the response of the materials.

Through colour, transparency and volume, her works make room for what resists precise representation. A trace may suggest a leaf, a skin or a fragment of landscape at once. Sallin is drawn to this ambiguity: the way an imprint can hold a living presence without fixing the thing from which it came.
