During the lock down period in the spring of 2020, when everything was put on hold and everyday life was gloomy, Nature seemed totally indifferent to our case and thrived without any restraint.
There was this curious paradox between our rules of social distancing, the real danger of contamination, and the plant kingdom’s vital impulse to mix with everything: its pollen carried by the wind settling on the animals, landing thousands of kilometers away, its scent diffused in the atmosphere, with odorous molecules penetrating our nostrils and lungs.
I seek to reactivate this therapeutic experience by creating a sensorial plant-reminiscent environment.
Matter, color and smell are expressed with floating sculptures recalling here and there a cluster, a bundle of pollen, a handful of pistils and few layers of petals.
In this space, in contact with the sculptures, we can get very close and find an intimacy with the outside world which comforts and heals us.
